French Riviera Condo 4 Rent Instructions

Apartment Orientation

*      You’ll find instructions for major appliances including the internet, TV, AC, etc. on laminated sheets that we’ve strategically placed throughout the apartment.  These are also included below.

*      A binder containing very detailed instructions for almost everything is situated in the desk in the living room however these are very dense.  We’ve attempted to simply the instructions on the laminated sheets that are spread around the apartment and included below. Our hope is that you find sufficient instructions on the laminated sheets so that you don’t have to ‘wade’ through the monster binder.:

Kitchen

*      For under-cupboard lighting: touch the black switch situated under the cupboard. Touch three times for three intensities.

*      The volet roulant (window shutter) operates manually with the handle by the sink.  Leave rolled down for brightness. Roll up at night only if you want the privacy.

*      The touch sensor for the faucet is disengaged (purposely) therefore faucet operates like most.

*      There are cleaning products including dishwasher pods under the sink.

Dining Area

*      The ceramic table top rotates to expand for seating 6-8 people. Caution: watch your fingers while rotating – they can be easily pinched. Go slow.

*      There are two red fold up chairs in the coat closet in the entranceway.

*      There are two fold up TV tables leaning against the wall between the table and the sofa.

Living Room

*      The sofa bed has pillows, sheets and pillow cases tucked inside.  The additional linens (blankets, towels, etc.) for guests who use the sofa bed are situated in the wicker trunk in the bedroom.

*      Shutters (Volet roulant) for both the living room and the bedroom are electric. There’s one switch in the bedroom and another in the living room. Each switch has an ‘up’ and ‘down’ component.

Caution: Be sure there is nothing obstructing the shutter (e.g. chairs, table) when putting shutters down.

Laundry Room

*      You will find some laundry pods on top of the washing machine.

*      Please empty the lint basket in the dryer before every use.

Bedroom

*      The robes are fresh and for your use. You’ll find slippers in the armoire.

*      Extra blankets- lighter and heavier – are also in the armoire.

*      Beach towels are hanging in the armoire.

Terrace

*      The cushions for the terrace furniture are in the bedroom – these can be left on the terrace furniture for the duration of your stay.

*      The yellow awning is operated manually – the rod/handle is leaning against the wall where the air conditioner is situated.

Caution! Do not extend the awning if there’s a strong wind blowing.  Also, do not leave the awning out when you leave the apartment for any length of time (e.g. more than a few hours). The winds in the Med are unpredictable and can come up out of nowhere.

Watering System for Outdoor Plants

*      We’ve installed an automatic watering system for the terrace plants including the potted plants. This system is battery-operated and turns on every 12 hours for 15 minutes.  It’s currently set to turn on at 8 AM and 8 PM. You may hear the water trickling at these times.

*      Note: If the outdoor plants look thirsty, please use the green watering on the terrace to supplement the automatic system. Let us know via e-mail if you’ve had to do this and we’ll have Chantal re-set the system after your visit.

Indoor Plants

*      The orchids are happiest on the kitchen window sill during the summer months. Chantal will water these when she comes in after your stay, or, Laeticia will give them a drink along with the plant in the living room when she comes in.

Entryway / Apartment Keys

*      After you’ve entered the apartment insert your key into the interior lock and turn to keep the door locked and closed.  The only way to keep the door locked/closed is to have the key inserted. This is a safety feature we developed to avoid being locked out if a wind gust shuts the door.

*      Always lock the apartment when you go out and at night lock both the interior and exterior door
